THE PIXIE QUEEN TOUR - Boston, MA Show Review

Intimate concert venue Brighton Music Hall hosts some of the most magical, unforgettable, music filled nights in the Boston area. This Labor Day weekend started off with a bang as Circa Survive and Saosin vocalist Anthony Green embarked on a solo tour for his fourth studio album 'Pixie Queen' set to release September 9, 2016. Green brought along special guests Secret Space and Mat Kerekes. Mat joins the tour September 7 at the Atlanta, GA date.

Hailing from Toledo, OH Secret Space kicked off their set promptly at 9 pm to a packed room full of fellow music enthusiasts. Signed to Equal Vision records with their debut album 'The Window Room' out now, the Pixie Queen Tour is the bands first US tour and they did not disappoint! The crowd was jamming along to the bands new songs and nodding their heads along with the groovy beat. Each song was jam packed with powerful lyrics and melodies that oozed with emotion. At the end of each tune the room filled with roaring applause and screams of enthusiasm. Secret Space definitely gained a ton of new fans at their first show on their first full US tour!

Closing out the night was none other than the one and only Anthony Green. Being a man of many vocal talents, it was no surprise that his performance was the highlight of the evening, perhaps the whole entire weekend. The crowd went wild as soon as he started his set, with a sea of hands in the air and voices echoing back his emotional lyrics. Green played a combination of new songs off his soon-to-be released album 'Pixie Queen' along with timeless crowd favorites. No matter what song he was singing, he gave each one his all and his facial expressions were vast, sincere, and heart-warming. Towards the end of the evening, he slowed the pace of his set down and the whole room came to a hush. It was a really beautiful moment as the crowd heard him sing a quiet, moving song as his voice echoed and his band mates sang in harmonies. After finishing the song, thanking the crowd, and going back to the green room, Anthony came back out as the crowd screamed "ONE MORE SONG, ONE MORE SONG"! He admitted he only wanted a drink of water and the whole encore thing was insincere and the crowd had a laugh with him. He began to sing the most requested, yelled out song of the night, the song that the crowd was most eager for, Devil's Song. The room was filled with emotional enthusiasm as everyone sang out every word. When the song was almost over, Green split the room in two sections to have the audience chant back different lines of the song. The right side sang out "We're all still in the same spot" while the left side screamed out "THIS FEELS LIKE A NIGHTMARE"! It was a truly unforgettable moment and everyone at that venue was in sync and connected with the music. One of the best parts about his show was the fact that he was so engaged and interactive with the audience, exchanging commentary back and forth between concert goers and himself. He talked to one fan named Wendy several times and even started singing an impromptu song dedicated to her, it was very sweet. The first night of the Pixie Queen Tour was captivating, mesmerizing, and enchanting. Catch one of the upcoming shows of the tour and maybe, just maybe, Anthony Green will create a song just for you on the spot! Tix can be found at http://pixiequeen.co/
